“Travel in Style” | Wedding Floristry
Traveling the world is exciting to many, as it is one of those experiences where one goes off to learn about the world or another culture but in the process also discovers him/herself. I wanted to capture this blooming feeling when working on a recent project. The team present had a very expensive vintage car for the shoot with a gorgeous architectural background. The tone was elegant and high fashion which made me think about traveling to exclusive places, all the while living out of a car and the adventures it would bring. After all, what better way to travel than to go without a set path or timeline?
For this shoot I had the pleasure of working with two gorgeous models and designing wearable floral accessories for them. I loved the idea of creating a bow tie out of small pieces of succulents as an excellent fashion statement to rock on a night out or event for men. This is fun and unique to give personality to any outfit. For our gorgeous female model I created a bracelet piece in neutral tones to go with her dress as well as give a nod to the vintage car color; for it would be in the background of most pictures. Further details included a set of asymmetrical earrings using the same floral palate as the bracelet to match. I wanted these to be delicate yet elegant and ended up loving how they worked with the overall look.
Now for the extravagant design! Most florals for this set were actually placed “pouring” from the vintage car, giving the illusion of a comfortable and memorable ride through town. This design not only took multiple hours of work but a ton of flowers as well. For this I added white roses along with a few touches of light pink to give the concept some color. The warm tones worked perfectly to compliment the earthy pastel color of the vehicle. It was fun working on the design and the imagery it would create and represent. As artists our minds are always looking at things for their beauty and meaning. Whether it is creating extravagant designs like the roses pouring from the car or small intricate details like the succulent bow tie, attention to detail and overall aesthetic is always my goal. I work to bring my clients ideas to life, making their vision and accessories one of a kind.
